Any less than 6 Oscars and I’m becoming a terrorist

Unbelievable it’s taken me this long to rewatch this but what better way to end the year than with the movie that put 2024 on the cinematic map? You all know this is fuckin amazing, what more is there to say?

But it is new years eve so some sort of final word is in order. Movie wise, I think this year was pretty solid. Last year was definitely better but this year had its moments. Dune taking over was really fun, Godzilla keeps getting bigger, and all the Wicked memes were fun even if I haven’t seen the movie. But for some reason it felt like there were more big bombs than last year? Maybe it’s just cus movies I cared about like Furiosa and Transformers did horribly so that’s why it feels worse? Idk tho. As for next year, I think it’s pretty stacked. But at the same time, I can’t really see anything that’s gonna be a huge pop culture moment like Barbenheimer or Dune 2? Maybe Superman has the sauce? Avatar 3? Mickey 17? I’m certainly looking forward to a lot of good stuff but idk, maybe I’m just worried for more box office flops

Personally, this was a nothing burger of a year for me. Not good, not bad, just whatever. I turned 21, went on some dates then went 0-4 with said women, watched more basketball and fell more in love with the sport, played some great games from my backlog, watched some great movies, hung out with bro as much as I could, got even more into politics and likely will continue to do so. So idk, kind of a mid year for me. Hopefully yall had a better one! My new years film resolution is to rewatch all the Star Wars movies and maybe find a good local theater for rereleases of older stuff
