denis took the biggest goddamn swing for the fences i can recall seeing in a sci-fi flick, and it paid off. dune: part two is bigger, bolder, louder, and perhaps more brash in comparison to the first. it looks like a painting, sometimes even too much.
the addition of austin butler was a great one. he and that precious head of his are electric. i don’t love zendaya or cristopher walken, but they’re minor footnotes for me on a pretty great movie.
