The Ballad of Wallis Island

2025

I am not even kidding, this movie is a perfect blend of non-stop jokes and a hard hitting emotional story. When Charles said something along the lines of 'there's just some things you can't bring back' while Herb is looking at the picture, DAGGER to the heart.

Also my 5 year plan is to be like Charles, win the lottery and move to a remote island

if you go to see this STAY FOR THE MID CREDIT SCENE, it literally made me tear up.

I went in to this so blind that all i knew was that is was another Ryan Coogler/ Michael B. Jordan movie and that made it so much more enjoyable. A perfect blend of serious/spooky and comedy that did NOT feel as long as it apparently was. I was hooked the whole time. I think upon a rewatch (with subtitles) this could be a 5 star movie. REALLY liked it!

ALSO the music scene is a top scene of all time, UNREAL

ok so being honest, i knew literally nothing about this going into it, but from the moment the first musical hit played, i was locked in. 100% my favorite ghibli score now (howl's now in 2nd but its still incredible). Also, i wasn't expecting the gore but it was kinda sick (complement). I would take the time to do a fully thought out analysis but so many people have put my thoughts together better than I could

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie

91 minutes of Eric Bauza talking to himself (this is a good thing)

This movie was both an homage to 50s sci-fi (the title being one for the day the earth stood still and the plot being invasion of the body snatchers) and an homage to looney tunes in general. I loved the story, I loved the jokes, i LOVED Farmer Jim,I loved the music (powerhouse, merry go round broke down, (Everything I do) I do it for you by…

i didnt realize how fully invested in this i was until the resolution happens in the last act and i felt my entire body relax. its not even that tense, i just felt the weight come off of all their shoulders and felt the same

I absolutely loved the set design, the costuming, the cinematography, the SOUND. I wasn't expecting it to be start to end singing but it really worked for this. it felt more like an opera than a movie which is really cool. ALSO the COLORS, they popped so insanely nice, like even if it wasnt shot in technicolor the sets were so colorful that they would've popped off the screen anyways.

Okay so i went in to this basically being told…

tears in my eyes the whole movie, cried during the credits when 'as himself' popped up, and then cried again just now when i realized that the real Divine G is the one that asks for the autograph near the beginning

the parade song goes INSANELY hard. also the projector at the theater was ever so slightly not calibrated right so everything was super sharp except the bottom like tenth of the screen so the subtitles were fuzzy which kinda added to the whole 'this movie hurt my brain'. also if you describe inception as a hard movie to follow, good luck with this one

A Real Pain

this movie made me feel grief for something i have no connection to through family ir anything and feel grief for people that dont exist, Kieran Culkin is one hell of an actor. its charming and tells such s compelling story that i was actually able to be fully immersed in it even with a theater full of old people laughing along

ok i had 3 problems with this movie

1. the trailer gave away WAY too much
2. i was expecting this to be way more sad
3. i feel like it would've been even more impactful if it wasn't out of order, but i understand why they did it

BUT, overall this was very good and Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh have INSANE on screen chemistry. The story was real and the dialogue felt authentic. i do love me a story that wraps itself up in a nice little bow :)

its a shame that i was the only person in the theater for this because it was absolutely incredible, but on the other hand there was also no one there to see me ugly cry 4 times.

This movie is perfect because it has the big 3 S's; Saoirse Ronan, Scotland, and seals.
