Dune: Part Two

"Dune: Part Two" an experience to behold and better than the experience of reading the book itself.

"Dune: Part Two" is the continuation, culmination, and elevation of everything I already loved about "Dune: Part One".

It is obviously way better than Part One, of which of course did all the heavy lifting so that Part Two could shine as bright as it does. Without the masterfulness of Part One, Part Two would not be what it is and now we have one of the greatest two part experiences in cinematic history.
In of being a better experience than the experience of reading the book, I know that sounds OTT but generally speaking no book compares or can ever compete with the range of emotions and chemical reactions my body goes through when I watch great cinema. Thats just me, I know most would not agree with that. The book is clearly sacred, books in general are clearly sacred. I just love cinema more. Way, way more. It is beyond words, how much more. I prepped for this film. I listened to the audio book and it was indeed very dense, in comparison to the films, there is loads of extra context, depth, extra characters and extra plot-lines, all very compelling stuff but I felt absolutely nothing while listening along to it. Some people argue these movies, including this new one, leave them cold or detached. Well Christ. Try reading the book. Regardless, the book was very fascinating, interesting and compelling. Like a deep history lesson from the future. Very similar to my experience reading The Lord of the Rings. In the end however It was all a bit of mission to get through.

The same can not be said of this cinematic experience and it is a true cinematic experience. Watching this on a very big TV screen will never compete with the experience on the big screen. The visuals and sounds shot through my very body and soul. This is pure cinema at its very best and to be fully appreciated, must be seen on the biggest and best screens available. Denis takes the best of the book and condenses it. He distills what’s essential from it yet still manages to keep it complex and dense. The film actually improves upon and fixes the glaringly deficiencies of the book and makes it a far more intense, emotional and visceral roller-coaster of an experience.

The FX are the best I've ever seen, the score is just one of the best Ive ever heard. The visuals, some of the best I've ever seen, The performances are excellent. Each actor gets their moment to shine but the two leads and villain steal the show. Paul? I'm kinda in love with him. He is badass beyond badass in this film. Lady Jessica is much more compelling here than in the book as well.

This was a 10 out of 10 experience for me. A true cinematic masterpiece and exactly the kind of cinematic experience I have waited my entire life for. I've just bought my tickets to see it in 70mm, in the only place in Europe itself in which that is possible. I have a feeling that is going to be even more powerful experience.

Denis may be the greatest sci-fi director of all time, he’s at least now entered the conversation, thats for damn sure.

5 out of 5 STARS - Masterpiece.
