The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened?

2015

★★★★ 6

Probably the biggest "what if" in cinema history, alongside Jodorowsky's Dune and Kubrick's Napoleon. Seeing how far the creative process went and how awesome the finished bits looked, you can't help but think Tim Burton's Superman would've been something really special. Would it be a box office hit? Maybe not, considering the time period. But they canceled that to pour $170 million into Wild Wild West! It's just sad how the world is.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

★★★★½ Liked Watched

I love how each M:I entry manages to top the last — except for the second one. The Final Reckoning has the distinction of concluding the Chatgptentity storyline, so the stakes escalate incredibly. It's great as it brings back glimpses of the old movies, both for context and as a tribute. I think it was the first one that brought tears to my eyes while watching it. Many thanks to the great man Tom Cruise!
