I didn't have the same issue that others did with the ending; in fact I think it completes the movie's thematic quadrangle. An obsession with true crime is comprised of a fourfold act of imagination: the imagination that one might be the victim who is subjected to the crime, the imagination that one might be the perpetrator who commits the crime,  the imagination that one might be the detective…
