Jay D 's Watching’s review published on Letterboxd:
Just got out, so somewhat still processing - will likely write something longer and more spoiler-y in the morning after sleeping on it, but for now I'll just note that all that table-setting in the first half pays off handsomely (and I expect, if someone hadn't read the book, very effectively), despite DV's reputation for solemnity (and to be fair, there is a lot of circumstance here) there are some genuinely, often-unexpected moments that nearly made me laugh out loud, Zendaya and Javier Bardem feel like the MVPs, and that while the Harkonnen spiderlady doesn't appear in this half (I guess that's a very mild spoiler) we DO get the big-eared sand mouse again, and that's good enough for me.
