1. This could have and should have been at least 30 minutes shorter. It felt like it would never stop dragging on towards the end. Maybe it’s just because the theater I saw this in felt like a sweltering 85 degrees and I was dying to get out of there bc I was sweating as if I was the one playing tennis… but it really should not have been that long
2. I thought it would be gayer 😒 twitter is always misleading me
3. I didn’t care enough for any of the characters to want to root for them
4. The performances were great
5. Despite the fact that I felt like it dragged on and I didn’t care about the characters, I still felt engaged by the movie and was excited through most of it and wanted to know how it would end
6. I loved the part of the final match when Patrick put the ball in the middle of the neck of the racket and Art’s whole game changes, and when the camera moves with the tennis ball and the music picks up… poetic cinema
7. The devilman crybaby ass soundtrack made the entire movie for me

i think the last time m. night shyamalan made a good movie was when i was in 4th grade

really wish they had given the dead moon arc a proper, fleshed out series. as a big fan of the manga i loved a lot of things about crystal and it’s sad to see it cancelled and the rest of the arcs replaced with poorly paced movies. the animation is pretty and it’s loyal to the original story but it’s extremely rushed and not well executed. i’ve been a sailor moon fan since i was 4 years old and i didn’t read the manga till i was a teenager, but the story really is a masterpiece and while i love the 90s anime because of nostalgia, it’s VERY different from the manga in a lot of ways and doesn’t do the characters justice. while crystal was much more loyal to the naoko’s original story, the first 2 seasons had a very low budget, terrible animation, and bad pacing. the death busters season was a lot better for the most part and i was really looking forward to the eternal movies but 3 hours just isn’t enough time to do the dead moon arc justice, and i don’t think the stars movies will be enough to cover everything in depth either. i just really hope the manga gets a proper adaptation someday.

a beautiful coming of age story of a young lesbian. we need more of these!

saw this back in 2019 when it came out but forgot to rate it. rating it now just to say i wish i could give it negative stars. possibly the worst movie i’ve ever seen, it left me speechless with how truly horrible it was. i guess that takes talent!

it was quite different for a marvel movie. idk why it’s getting so much hate but i enjoyed it. gemma chan is incredible

quite long, mostly exposition but i know that’s because it’s setting the story up for the next several movies. very strong acting. zendaya is gorgeous!

michael myers is a girlboss

one of the best modern horror movies of all time. it really tackled grief, depression, and suicide in a raw and real way and didn’t feel exploitative at all. it had me guessing the whole way through. i really liked it!

kept me guessing through most of it. the end was so ridiculous. the chair throwing scene had me crying lmao. enjoyable to watch tho !

something fun, something for the summertime!

yeah it’s time we end this whole girlboss vibe right now.. the ending made me absolutely sick. just an extremely offensive movie. if you want good revenge-on-rapists content watch sweet/vicious.

absolutely perfect film. kevin smith you deserve exactly 7 oscars. i loved the ending! very yass and slay. 10/10.

i really loved this. it's more than horror or even psychological thriller, it really explores spirituality and emotional abuse. the ending made me a bit sad but i think that was the point. i was really impressed with the quality and amanda seyfried was incredible. the exploration of "toxic masculinity" and descent into madness was really well done. kudos!!!

best movie of all time, 10/10

most intriguing movie i've seen in a while. it kept me guessing for the most part. it got a little silly towards the end at the big reveal, but otherwise great. amy adams is a gem as always!

entirely too long, lots of cringe, underused james mcavoy, didn’t feel connected to the adult losers, lots of great scenes ruined by bad jokes, the homophobic hate crime was brutal and unnecessary (yes i know it happens in the book but it didn’t translate well on screen in 2019), mike’s characterization was butchered yet again, not scary, clunky, ritual of chüd was nonsensical and silly, wtf were eddie’s last words??? the only good parts were ben & beverly and richie being gay/being in love with eddie and the flashbacks to 1989. overall it did not live up to its predecessor and did not do the book or the characters justice. honestly it gave me a headache and i couldn’t wait for it to be over.

absolutely terrible and unenjoyable, poorly executed and written. the only reason this has more than half a star is because lily and zac did a fantastic job acting as ted and liz.
