"This prophecy is how they enslave us!"

No 'cuz i had GENUINELY forgotten how EPIC this is ๐Ÿคฏ.

Since i had only seen it once while i was shocked when they announced the Oscar nominations only to find out Dune: Part II had gotten just FIVE i wasn't as mad as other people were about it... until now.

Like the arrival of a "chosen one" what Dennis Villeneuve managed to achieve with both Dune movies but especially this one is something that happens only once every few years. EVERYTHING from the writing to the cinematography, the score, the costume design, the hair and makeup, the set/production design, the vfx, the action sequences, it all feels monumental BECAUSE IT IS... and i'll never forgive myself for not being able to witness it in theaters ๐Ÿฅฒ.

I've seen some people say this franchise is the next generation's Star Wars or Lord of The Rings and while i haven't seen the latter i can absolutely get behind that idea. Despite it not technically being an original story you never feel the runtime mostly because of how invested it manages to get you into its narrative, which i think is highly attributed to the fact that they decided to divide the movie in two parts.

The performances are also top notch, i think i already said this on my A Complete Unknown review but i honestly don't understand why Timothรฉe Chalamet got nominated to the Oscar for Best Actor for that instead of THIS. Despite not being the biggest fan of Paul's change of heart after taking "The water of life" and having my own reservations about wether or not he is the messiah The Imperium needs, seeing Paul go from Prince of Caladan to Duke of Arrakis it's kinda hard not to believe he IS the Lisan Al-Gaib with the performance that Timmie puts up.

I'd also like to argue Rebecca Ferguson could've been nominated for Best Actress for her performance as Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem for Best ing Actor for his performance as Stilgar and Charlotte Rampling for Best ing Actress for her performance as The Reverend Mother (at least in my opinion).

But anyway i'm just rambling at this point, all that i have left to say is that i hope Dune: Messiah doesn't get overlooked by The Academy as much as Part: II did because i know that will be another modern day masterpiece just like the first two films are (oh and my ass will be SEATED to see that one in theaters, TRUST).

Overall score: STILL 10/10
