Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

2024

★★★★★ Rewatched

With this second viewing I feel like I have truly witnessed Furiosa in all of its glory, and I’m itching for more. A powerhouse of a film that places its titular character’s journey at the forefront, with an incredible performance from Anya Taylor-Joy that really uses her expressions to its full extent.

One of the most impressive things about this film is how seamlessly it ties into Fury Road, elevating both films in the process. I truly can’t imagine one without the other and I believe that speaks as a testament to George Miller’s dedication and attention to detail for this magnificent world he has created.

It’s time to who you are.

You’re goddamn right because this movie reminded me why I wanna get into this stuff in the first place; to see Dev Patel unapologetically embrace his Hindu culture and seamlessly weave it into this simple yet emotionally charged narrative is genuinely awe-inspiring.

Good on him for calling out the shit going on with the BJP; I’m so happy that this didn’t get dumped to streaming and I’m also really interested to see what…

Mission: Impossible – Fallout

it really is that good, i don’t know what else to tell you. some of the best moments in the franchise, and i ain’t talking about the set pieces. the scene with luther and ilsa, ethan reuniting with julia for the first time in years. rips me to shreds.

the stuff with cavill is great too.

people actually fall for this shit?” oh you got no idea, buddy. all-timer movie, was my all-time fav for years. i will never forget losing…

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation

started cackling like a fucking geese when he took off the mask, this movie rocks on every level. extremely nostalgic for this one, was the first mi i saw in theaters and i didn’t think it could get any better than this. boy was i wrong.

either way, this movie is still flawless. looks incredible too, elswit was on something else. it honestly kills me not putting this one higher but it’s hard when your franchise is consistently dropping the best movies ever. if someone said this was the best one i wouldn’t be able to tell them otherwise.

and rebecca ferguson. c’mon. come on.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

I have a general rule: if a movie makes me cry, it’s a 4.5 at LEAST. I cried 4 times. The stakes in this one are higher than the biplane Tom’s cruising on, and that’s my favorite part of Final Reckoning. You can sit here and nitpick all you want, which is incredibly valid, but sometimes you just gotta sit back and soak in the greatness.

had somewhat high hopes for this and they delivered, thank fucking god. the cast is great and they bounce off of each other really well, I’ve been saying that the MCU has been missing that classic team chemistry for a while now and this has all that and more.

the action is also very well-choreographed. pacing wise, it does hit kind of a lull in the second act but the third act is the exact opposite of what you’ve come…
