shoutout the guy who brought a 3 year old to this that was a really cool move

glad this is really good bc then i can just like all the movies with the lil raccoon guy and otherwise disregard the MCU overall.

i am still firmly of the opinion that, much like top gun maverick and avatar the way of water, if a movie is going to cost more money than any non-evil person will ever see in their life, it should also be overwhelmingly sincere and made by people you can tell actually wanted to be making it.

exactly 0 people in this movie talk like a real person. i think that's at least kinda part of the appeal, but it's also very distracting, esp in the first act. i have very few other complaints.

i KNOW this movie has problems and why ppl don't like it that much but u need to understand that every single action setpiece in this movie is perfect and also i am drunk

cute! i like how (unlike a lot of newer marvel stuff) this movie is a little more honest about the fact that this is a kids movie aimed at kids. makes it a lot easier to enjoy when it isn't pretending to be something it's not.

maybe the most perfect movie to ever exist

it's so funny how many threads in this you would think would come up again in one of the many future films that involve tony stark but nope! not a single one

some observations on third rewatch:
- this is my favorite movie of this year i think
- i like every part of it pretty much
- it's super cool being in a theater on edibles and having someone bang on the emergency exit from the outside a bunch i love that

love how the camera guy is like "fuck this i'm getting out of here" and then fucking gets out of there

extremely controversial opinion: i liked this movie and thought that it was good

fun enough, but also very obviously neutered to be more of a comedy, i think these movies are both funnier and just generally better when they're not trying so hard to make jokes. courtney cox has maybe the worst haircut i've seen in my entire life in this.
