Had to watch this twice today! ‘Dune: Part Two’ is nothing short of a monumental achievement in the realm of science fiction adaptation and filmmaking. It stands as a completely new and unique masterclass, possibly even in contention for the greatest film ever made. This sequel sures its predecessor with flawless execution, becoming one of the best films I’ve ever seen, particularly in the realm of science fiction blockbusters. It’s very close to beating ‘Interstellar’ and ‘City of God’ on my: All Time Ranked Film List; Might be first after the third watch 😂

Denis Villeneuve's direction showcases his evolution as a filmmaker, culminating in an awe-inspiring cinematic masterpiece. He’s never been one of my favourites but this film cements how fucking good he really is! Greig Frasier's cinematography adds to the film's extraordinary imagery, creating a spectacle that leaves viewers breathless and in awe from start to finish. It's a testament to cinematic history in the realm of sci-fi.

The film serves as a spectacular companion to the first installment, enhancing the narrative while introducing new characters with depth and intrigue. Performances by Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Austin Butler breathe life into their roles, elevating the already fascinating characters to new heights. Butler's portrayal of Feyd-Rautha, in particular, stands out as one of the greatest character performances in recent memory.

The final battle scene, featuring the weird looking sphere, is a testament to the film's stunning visual effects and cinematography. Villeneuve's direction captures the sheer magnitude of the moment, leaving viewers in awe of the spectacle unfolding on screen. The shots throughout the film are among the best seen in any modern blockbuster, adding to its overall brilliance. As much as I disagree with the fate of Feyd-Rautha, what an ending!

In conclusion, ‘Dune: Part Two’ is a triumph of filmmaking, setting a new standard for science fiction blockbusters. With its impeccable direction, mesmerising visuals, and outstanding performances, it solidifies its place as one of the greatest films of the last decade. WOW! 5/5!
