Now this is podracing!
Dune: Part Two is remarkably insightful with its meditation on faith, religion, and control. The greyscaled sequences double as beautiful in their artistic contrast as well as thoughtful world-building. It's bold in what the ending says and means and it subverting expectations makes it all the more exciting.
It's bigger overall and shares much of the same with its predecessor, though I'd say it does new things that are great and lacks in other areas. There's certainly more story to be told of Paul Atreides' rise to power, so it's hard to fully appreciate this knowing that we still don't have the full picture. The loss of Oscar Isaac and the gentleness he brought is definitely felt in this film too.
