this was good, fellas

visceral. guadagnino’s blend of the horror and romance genre, along with the framing of cannibalism as a metaphor for many subjective meanings makes this unapologetically gory film disturbingly tender. i honestly ire the ambiguity and openness for interpretation of this film, and personally, i do believe the characters’ insatiable hunger for human flesh represents intergenerational trauma or addiction. bones and all closes on a strong note, however, it takes an unnecessarily long route to that point, with a large portion of the film feeling overly drawn out.

this film begins as a horror but unravels into a deeper story about love and loss. beneath the surface, it’s a haunting exploration of how grief distorts reality. i really like this

this film speaks to me in ways i can’t quite describe. truly might be one of the most heartbreaking and emotionally suffocating love stories ever
