Just like, kind of incredible still. This is the first watch where I haven’t been in a cinema, but it hasn’t lost any of it’s magic since. It’s still this profoundly meaningful amalgamation of living in a world where as humans, we’re so tuned into the whole world and everything happening within it that we’re subjected to constantly. It’s a movie that has its finger on the pulse of internet culture, mental health, inter-generational trauma and familial dynamics. 

I fear that the insane amount of wins this movie had at the Oscars might cause a small group of people to claim this is overhyped, but I think once the dust settles, this will stand as a real game changer in of not only what films can be ‘oscar bait’, and will also no doubt serve as a basis of inspiration with films to come, and filmmakers to come.

But yeah, the buttplug movie just won Best Picture, all is well.
