A movie that’s overwhelming at times and evokes a surreal feeling as it comes to a close. Realizing you’re watching an all-time great trilogy and feeling ultimately distant from it feels odd. But that’s where I’m at. I’m not accustomed to watching fantasy/adventure and that’s why I’m not connecting with the trilogy as a whole. I respect this a lot. Beautiful storytelling, visuals and world-building. I don’t personally LOVE Lord of the Rings but recognize there’s a lot to love about it.

There’s something to be said about a movie causing a physical reaction while also packing an emotional punch. I found myself unknowingly gripping my leg tight because of how tense Bring Her Back is. I also unexpectedly cried because of the subject matter. This is a movie that takes its time to let you see how all of the characters’ lives are affected by parenting. And the parallels don’t stop in its theme. There is clever camera work and editing.…
