New fears unblocked. Had a good amount of action and suspense and surprises. Loved the Easter eggs all over. Probably my favorite!

Forgot how... questionable some of the acting was and also, how come in one scene the girl is telling him about her dead dad and the next one they're calling each other "baby" and basically telling each other they'll be together forever??? Did I miss something?? exactly WHEN did those two hook up?

I wanted to watch something weird and this did it for me. However, I wish we had more context for the WHY and the HOW.

It was a 2 star until that very last scene... I had to sit up

Something strange is happening with this movie and it's that I both liked it and disliked it but I couldn't tell you why

Not as funny as I thought it would be and overall dumb. Every single cop in this movie is terrible with no skills whatsoever and every bad guy is excellent at shooting and super strong and doesn't go easy. It dragged wayyy too long for my taste. I do gotta say the gore is good though but that's about it.

Visually beautiful and great actors but I wanted my heart ripped out of my chest and it just didn't do it for me. Still good though!

Oh boy.

I have to confess I went in due to fomo and to confirm if it was as bad as social media made it out to be, and yet, I was still surprised.
The thing about this movie is that it could have been SO GOOD and that is what it pisses me off. Hell, I dare to say there was no need for it to be a musical and it might have been half decent. Problematic, yes, but still decent ish.
Now my main problem with it is that since the very first song, I could notice, as a Spanish speaker, that whoever wrote that shit had no idea about the Spanish language. It's like when I was a kid and tried to make signs for some school project and when it was 3/4 of it done I realized that the words wouldn't fit so I had to write them real tiny at the end and the whole thing was mismatched and weird... EVERY single song in this movie feels like that. Not to mention certain things were poorly translated, words cut off mid-sentence or changed accents or intonations (wtf was that?) or it simply felt like somebody was just speaking and there were real loud instrumentals that they're supposed to follow while saying things. Almost nothing rhymed, and songs brought nothing to the story, it was honestly weird and uncomfortable to witness it. Linda Belcher from Bob's Burgers does a way better job pulling songs out of her ass than whoever was in charge of this soundtrack.

I'm not even going to get into the actors that either 1. spoke poor spanish 2. were suppossed to be mexican but had no mexican accent and couldn't even pretend well 3. just blantlantly ignored where the movie was "set" and who they were suppossed to be and represent.

To summarize, if you take all the songs out (or make way better ones) and bring a cast of Mexican actors(And there are so many talented ones), and do real research on an ACTUAL issue that in fact, happened in the country then hey, you might get yourself a good movie.

1 1/2 star only cause Edgar Ramirez was being a hottie as always.

This was so so good I'm already thinking about a rewatch. It's incredible how this movie has the same "theme" as the two previous one but it's entirely different and magical in its own way. I ate that lil' platonic friendship all the way up. Lupita was spectacular and Joseph Quinn really surprised me. I wish this had lasted at least 2 more hours; I want to know more about them, their families, their friendships, their jobs.. every single element in their lives.
