Dave Bautista’s best role next to 2049. Absolute genius character design choice putting him in long brush back salt and pepper hair and dragon graphic button downs. My absolute favorite thing in this aside from Curtis. Schwartzmen is also great, even if he’s only got a minute of screen time. And Pam should do more btw, need to see her in more things.

Unlike its possible/likely/loose inspiration Dumb and Dumber, this has seemingly given its “gas-men” the spotlight in favor of its leads. It’s fun to see play out and there’s a bunch of good laughs here and there but the strength of its side players is what, I feel, takes the cake. Also Beanie Fieldstein beating the shit out of a grown man is just the best.

Aside from Batman Returns, this was my most watched Batman film of my childhood. Waiting for the WB logo to freeze at the opening titles meant, to me, if I had rented the right VHS from the store or not. It's not great and I think that's the overall consensus and there has been much discussion on why it didn't go the way it was supposed to go but I don't care about the toys, the merch campaigns, the nipples on the suits etc etc. All I cared about when I was 8* years old was that this was a Batman film with Arnold Schwarzenegger (first billed btw) and the black and silver bat suits.

3 stars for deep, deep childhood cannon events.

“Life is like a box of chocolates”, “I’ll be back”, “Here’s looking at you, kid”, “She’s in the sewer”. 

You need to know that the experience of cackling with strangers in a theatre is one you can’t take for granted. I felt like I knew the audience, everyone was eagerly awaiting every reaction. It’s a glimpse into the potential of a new era in comedy and I couldn’t be more excited. The fact that this exists is just insane. I don’t even know what my favorite line is but I’m ready to obsess over them for the foreseeable future.

Clever lil flick. Liked it!

Someone I follow on here said this would’ve been a big deal in 2003 and I agree. Unfortunately, now it’s just another entry in the stream pool but that doesn’t mean Brad and George aren’t doing their best to make this worth your time and they are and it is. If anything, it’s great just to see their chemistry on screen again. I would’ve changed the title to Mr and Mr Smith tho.

Ford is always the best thing on the screen and even here with him as Ross / Red Hulk there is still no exception. Wished he did more angry pointing though.

There isn’t a better movie, or more suitable choice, than Rudy for what to watch on a flight. The color, saturation, score, emotional beats and overall narrative come together for the ultimate in-flight entertainment. Every moment in this I felt myself re-living 8hr flights. It’s the only way to describe it. The perfect movie to watch on a plane.

Been a hot minute since I watched this and I haven’t been more satisfied with a rewatch in a long time. Holy fricken shit I can’t even begin to explain how good this film is. It’s not up for debate. You can’t argue it. Action cinema is what this is. The soundtrack alone dear god. I mean it ends with All The Small Things. Then they follow that with Destiny’s Child. I mean are you fucking serious? McG directorial debut and he just throws this out there as if we aren’t going to re-live Sam Rockwell’s evil dance in our heads until the end of time. There’s honestly too many iconic moments. It’s offensively good. It’s one of the best action films of the decade. It’s not even parody action. Murray, Curry, Glover, I have to stop. It’s genuinely good. I will defend that forever. Perfect 5.

It’s school friends with Django Unchained and a beautiful looking film without a doubt. Glad I got to see it in 70mm and Lindo and this new kid Caton were both great, the biggest takeaway for me, though, is how goddamn incredible the music is. Ludwig unstoppable.

Wanted so badly for this to end waking up from the car crash. So much made me feel like it was leading us there. The surrealism, the absurd and over-the-top personalities, the way everyone interacts with each other. So much of this is a fever dream, one I wish we woke up from. Still, what this ended up being (bleak body horror porn akin to Cronenberg’s work) is still worth sitting through even if you’re sad when it’s over. 

THE YELLOW, GREEN AND RED CARS ARE ALWAYS THERE!! IS THE PALM TREE THE LAST THING SHE SAW IN THE CRASH?!? HOW DID SUE RENOVATE THAT BATHROOM?!?

My 4000th film to date. Jerry never lets me down, and this film is one that went unnoticed that I needed to get to, so overall, this was the perfect choice. 

Watching the kid rant on about crt tv’s was a gift. As is nearly everything else here.

Funnier than I it being and due to Rudd and Park specifically, this is good.

Like the all time box office gems Step Brothers, Talladega, Role Models and Nacho Libre. This is where we find the power of blockbuster comedy cinema.

It’s not something as early as say Shanghai Noon or Big Momma’s House - though they earn our respect completely.
It’s something that moves us into the late 00s. Picture everything that came after Zoolander or Dodgeball. I wish we could go back.
