God this movie fucking rules! 5 stars for the soundtrack alone! Every time I see it I’m in awe at how wonderful it is. The storybook like quality throughout it, how funny the writing is, how weird the characters & scenes are… So great to watch 9 months pregnant as well!

This was such a great movie! I loved the old school fashion & aesthetic, but also the plot. The only random part was her deciding to leave her 6 year relationship in one second? Like ok? 😂 But I felt like the plot moved along well otherwise & I LOVED the Vermont parts! It was so cute to watch her get into canning & selling baby food & fall in love with the country life through her business. The late love affair was cute & the setting was iconic! 5 stars!

Watched for cutie pie Paul Mescal & enjoyed his dad vibes in this cute coming of age vacation kind of movie. There were some slow bits, but it was supposed to feel like watching home videos & it succeeded at that!

Being made in 2008 some of the stats are different than they are today, but this was really about the *new* fear around home birth that was not around in the early 1900's until hospital births became so popularized. They focused on the lack of consent given to women around hospital practices & how there is still a real lack of education around natural birth. I felt it was *pretty* good about just giving the facts not making women watching feel bad if circumstances led them to choose another birth option. they also spoke about celebrities making elective c-sections a thing which was interesting because it reminded me of birthing laying down becoming a thing because King Louis XIV wanted to watch his mistresses birth on their backs 😂 Then it became more popular because "wealthy women" did it. Wild! Anyway! Solid & educational watch

Honestly SO much funnier than how I it. Probably because I’m actually pregnant now watching it, but even the jokes about relationships or friendships are so much funnier with time. I CANNOT believe this came out in 2007! It aged surprisingly well. Obviously some jokes not so much, but really overall still a hilarious watch & it was funny the whole time! Serious at parts too, but had a great balance, a killer cast & lots of fun cameos. Loved!

Truly a heart wrenching story & BEAUTIFULLY portrayed by this cast. Can’t say enough good things! So sad & sorrowful, but so stunning

Solid cast & really not as bad as the reviews made it seem 😂 Acting was decent, plot kept me interested & I appreciated that they showed a variety of pregnancy/birth stories. I assume this is pretty LOOSELY based on the book, but I have yet to read it! Just watching a baby movie a month until she’s here! Decent start

Cool to see the world brought to life in movie format, but I definitely wish I waited to watch with my baby or something 😂 Just felt a little young for me to be watching alone on a Friday night, but the look of the movie was great & it was a nice happy end!

How did I never see this growing up? Who knows! But I did now! Decent storyline, but really was here for the set & costume design. Chef’s kiss!

Incredibly moving & powerful. Hard to watch during the cannibalism bits, but obviously shown for a reason to bring light to how one has to behave in an elongated crisis like this. Completely insane there were any survivors at all! Wild watch

Absolutely loved this story, but loved the music incorporated into the film even more! Cast slayed, concept slayed… George Clooney was a total hunk! Fantastic all around!
