They really fucked up that golf course.

Liked this a lot more this time. I think it’s weakness is it’s a little too self-aware of how cool and irreverent it’s being. Still, the plot mechanics are surprising and the way Shaft orchestrates the recovery of the kidnap victim as a heist really works great. The fact that the film ends immediately after pulling off the job is awesome and still feels fresh and ahead of its time.

Enjoyable first hour but then becomes cinematically problematic. Turning genocide into melodrama and using gas chambers as a suspense set piece. Psyche! These aren't gas chambers, they're regular old showers. Fooled you! Meanwhile...
