Stunning, in every way imaginable. The level of filmmaking on display here is absolutely insane, and I'll be very surprised if any other film this year (or even next year) comes close to matching it. I don't really have the words to describe it, but here's some rambling thoughts anyway...
• This might be Timothee Chalamet's best performance. It was always going to be tricky trying to show Paul's development, but he absolutely smashed it, and I can't wait to see what he does with Messiah.
• The whole cast is excellent here - Javier Bardem and Zendaya actually have stuff to do this time, and Dave Bautista really sinks his teeth into playing Rabban.
• Austin Butler is probably the stand out, though. His Feyd-Rautha is genuinely horrible, a slimy little sadistic creep who I absolutely hated. Perfect!
• The scenes on Giedi Prime are gorgeous, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. The gladiator sequence in particular has some of the most unique visuals put on screen in recent times.
• This is loud, from beginning to end. When they're not riding sandworms, they're blowing up spice harvesters, or battling Sardaukar forces, or having trippy Spice visions. I'm honestly amazed the speakers got through it unscathed.
• DUUUUUUUUUUUNE!
