Maddie (3.5 stars) - Stunning to look at, though I'm not sure anything about it really stays with you thematically. The performances are good and the pace works for me, but I mostly find myself just letting the cool world building and pretty shots wash over me and then moving on as soon as the movie ends.

Kelsey (2.5 stars) - This movie is as dry as Arrakis (nailed it!). Thinly drawn characters, pedestrian dialogue, emotionally inert, and just tedious (I did watch both Dune and Dune: Part Two for the first time back to back, so this is more a review of my overall experience). If Peter Jackson and co. can condense ~180,000 words of Tolkien into one 3 hour movie, you don't need 5+ hours to tell this also ~180,000 word story Denis Villeneuve! I mean, if you’re going to stretch this much, at least put a pug in the movie…
