i haven’t watched this in so long that i don’t even it, so this is being counted as a first-time watch. sure, there are parts of this that haven’t aged very well, but most of it holds up. for a movie that’s honestly pretty all over the place in of plot and backstory, beetlejuice is still so fun!!!! movies that are both a little silly and a little scary are the best!! the practical effects, score, and performances all make for a great viewing experience. michael keaton and winona ryder are my obvious favorites, but catherine o’hara, alec baldwin, and geena davis are also wonderful. i’m so glad that i chose to revisit this ahead of beetlejuice beetlejuice, because i can see it being in rotation for sure. i wish i revisited it easier, to be honest!
