Yay for big screens and a packed cinema! Mine was relatively well-behaved too. As a huge fan of the books, it's so refreshing to see Villaneueve's incredible vision as a director and his willingness to give the women their due.

I found this film better than the last because of Paul's relationships with these women and how much they do or do not impact his decisions. Zendaya's Chani is the heart and soul of the film for me.

The casting is, across the board, fantastic, as is the world building. Timothee was able to carry the weight of his character in a way that I feared he would not.

Special kudos to Javier Bardem, Austin Butler, and Josh Brolin who bring so much to their characters. As well as to the art direction, costumes, cinematography, and editing. I applaud the decision to debut this film so long before the Oscar's knowing full well it will still be in contention for them.
