Just give the Oscar to Colin Farrell's eyebrows, there is nothing funnier than:

😔 'Why don't you want to drink with me?'
😐 'Because you are feckin' dull'

I just love that this is a concept for a movie, a friend break-up! It's so compelling, how is this not a movie genre all on it's own? What drove McDonagh to come up with this story, is this something he has experienced?

I empathize with both Farrell and Gleeson because the…

I watched Goodfellas for the first time almost 20 years ago; I was entering that age where I was expanding my horizons with cinema by watching a new film from IMDBs list of top 250 movies every week. I would also read about who my favorite directors considered to be the best, and for guys like Spielberg and Lucas they would always have Scorsese listed as one of their favorite directors.

Scorsese’s work was still a blind spot for me…

Take the bromance at the center of Den of Thieves, sprinkle the loud gunfire from Heat, mix it with a dose of the highway chase from Speed and the non-stop action of Fury Road... this sounds like the greatest movie ever right? Ok now blend it all with Michael Bay and you get Ambulance, a fun and relentless ride that is only held back by bloat, poor editing and copaganda.

But it's definitely worth watching, Jake Gyllenhaal's character is right…

Bootleg 2000s Tarantino peppered with Deadpool wink wink nudge nudge humor... it's the perfect movie to watch on a plane, a fun ride that suffers from bloat — the story feels needlessly complex as it sets up the chess pieces and the 3rd act has too many endings, and is filled with ugly over-the-top CGI action.

The story really finds focus in the middle as some of the characters are killed off and the story becomes more grounded... Brian Tyree…

There is a joyous and celebratory energy that is more palpable than the previous entries, maybe they just happy to see each other again after 10 years, maybe it's the old crew's delight in watching the new crew take some of the hits, or maybe watching a guy get punched in the nuts by an MMA fighter is the first sign of normalcy in 2+ years. Dark Shark MVP.

I love Fincher, Social Network is one of my all-time favorite movies and Gone Girl is high up there, but this just doesn't work for me... this was my second time watching it, I thought it would hit different being a bit older but it left me cold and even more detached, and it's for sure less fun once you know the twist.

I ire the performances and dialog but watching it in 2021, this comes off a bit like…

Every frame is a postcard. A beautiful movie about childhood friendships, summer and the dangers of prejudice.

I liked that the mythology behind the transformations are never explained, it's just there with no need to explain anything else.

Also, Pann caught me snoring during the climax, I think the first time I ever fell asleep on her like that during a movie... and it wasn't the movies fault either, I've been in the middle of moving into a new place so I knocked out.

Nothing beats that feeling when you watch a movie and you realize you watching something really fucking good. This is another Mann masterpiece that you just gotta vibe with. I dismissed this upon release just like Miami Vice and I was wrong! It all works, the love story, the bromance, the hacking and the insane little chase and shootout at the end... It has the same thing as Heat where this is really a movie about people who are really good at what they do.

I loved it, gotta get my hands on the director's cut now.

Magic Mike

I can't quite nail what's missing, it should be more fun but the story lacks forward momentum and it's something I've seen in other Soderbergh movies... High Flying Bird comes to mind.

I don't think it's a skill he lacks either because he excels at pacing in Contagion and Ocean's 11.
