kinda wild that mowgli is the only non white mainline disney protagonist until aladdin

this should REALLY be my kind of movie but its just not really funny at all

there's many things that this movie teaches you about ponyo. im really happy i know these things about ponyo now

"i love you" is simultaneously the most infuriating and beautiful thing its so wonderful and silly

this movie posits an interesting theory which is that cis gay men are either outright villainous or, at best, uneasy and temporary allies

apparently i am now "cursed" to forever get distracted by a girl halfway through this movie and not finish it

its really good that parker and ripley spend the entire movie screaming at each other

almost cheered when the first ending music started

its so funny how much better than the early show this looks

this movie really knows how to use fluids

its really funny that that person was the one sending the ememe

i really don't know how i manage to make it to the scene when sophie confronts the royal sorceress and then right after that point get distracted EVERY TIME i watch this movie. different circumstances every time of course

its kinda awesome that the dad is fully like "oh no i bet [insert magical thing here] definitely happened!!!!" fully genuinely

two jokes got me:

1) when the boy asks jason momoa to pretend to be his uncle and he responds "i don't do stuff like that anymore"

2) when the waiter asks if the villager is finished with dinner and jennifer coolidge responds "no i think he's swedish"

a weird amount of racism in this

my only complaint is that the title should have dropped when ashitaka leaves the village and theres the shot of him in the field with the swelling score behind him

definitely liked it less this time and you can tell because i completely forgot to log it

i want the movie about how they determined what the rest of that final tapestry was. did they hire psychics? did they create the machine from Devs? i bet they created the machine from devs.

its so cool that basically every line of dialogue between corky and violet is written like a porn

the shot of him ed out on the ground is maybe one of the funniest cuts in movies

genuinely feels like a little child who has an encyclopedic knowledge of all the bionicle lore and its many many proper nouns wrote this movie
