Went back to rewatch this in theaters with some friends. This movie could have played it so safe, leaning into the action and visuals and avoiding any thematic statements, but I’m so glad they didn’t. This feels like the best case scenario for a Dune adaptation. All the sci-fi elements are knocked out of the park, a step up from the first movie. The through line of faith with the whole cast and crew understanding what it means to the core of this film is incredible. It’s one of the best sequels of all time, and probably one of the best epics of all time. It’s large scale and it’s doing everything right.

Bumping this down slightly on my Theater Experiences list because old people can’t read seat numbers and refuse to be corrected, ruining shit for multiple groups of people.
