They got the hottest people in the world together on the hottest planet in the galaxy. How’d they pull it off??

Finally caught it again in the 70mm IMAX screening and needless to say I was hard the entire time. 

Especially cause the theater played “Weapon of Choice” (aka the Fatboy Slim song that references Dune: “walk without rhythm and you won’t attract the worm”) beforehand, the music video for which also features Christopher Walken. So my tism was tickled from the jump. 

Also—don’t get why people felt Walken was miscast or distracting. His character is meant to be an unstable, uncertain and ultimately pathetic figure (both ruthless tyrant and gutless incompetent) so having an oddball old guy with an uncanny and often unpredictable screen presence portray him matched pretty well. 

The droning Hans Zimmer score and the whirring insect copters and rumbling of the sand worms physically vibrating through my core and the giant screen with crisp film stock capturing everything beautifully—I will say it really aided the experience of an already strong film.
